Carpet cleaning

Deep carpet cleaning that reaches the base of the pile

Vacuuming removes what sits on top. Our deep cleaning removes what lives underneath — compacted grit, oily soil, allergens and the residue left by supermarket shampoos. The result is brighter colour, softer texture and a carpet that stays cleaner for longer.

What's included

Every standard carpet clean includes

No hidden extras for the basics. The items below are part of every carpet cleaning visit, whatever the size of the job.

Our process

Seven steps, done the same way every time

Consistency is what separates a good clean from a lucky one. These are the steps our technicians follow in every room.

1

Inspect and identify

We confirm the fibre, check for loose seams, test dye stability and agree with you which stains matter most.

2

Protect the space

Corner guards on door frames, runners on hard floors, and light furniture lifted onto protective tabs.

3

Dry soil removal

A slow, overlapping pass with a commercial vacuum removes loose grit — the abrasive soil that wears carpet down.

4

Pre-spray and agitate

A fibre-appropriate pre-spray breaks down oily soil; a brush works it through the pile from several directions.

5

Rinse and extract

Controlled hot-water rinse with strong suction lifts the loosened soil out — and leaves almost no residue behind.

6

Treat remaining spots

Specific stains get specific chemistry: tannin, protein, oil or dye. We tell you what came out and what didn’t.

7

Groom and dry

The pile is groomed in one direction, air movers are positioned, and you get written drying and aftercare advice.

Stain guide

Common stains and how we handle them

If something spills before we arrive, blot — never rub — with a clean white cloth and a little cool water. Then leave the rest to us.

Tannin stains respond to a mild acidic spotter followed by rinsing. Old coffee with milk also needs a protein step first. Most tea and coffee marks are fully removable.

These contain natural dyes. Fresh spills usually come out completely; older ones may need a specialist dye-reduction treatment, which we test on a hidden area first.

We locate affected areas with UV light, flush the backing, and use an enzyme treatment to break down the source of the odour — not just mask it.

Frozen and broken away first, then the residue is dissolved with a gel solvent and rinsed so it doesn’t attract dirt.

Results depend on the ink type. Ballpoint usually lifts with solvent spotters; permanent marker can often be lightened but not always removed.

A dry solvent breaks down the oily base before extraction. Make-up foundations come out well when treated early.

Always let mud dry completely, then vacuum it out before wet cleaning. Remaining clay tint is removed with a mild detergent rinse.

Families & pets

Safe for crawling babies and curious noses

Children and pets spend more time on the carpet than anyone else in the house, so what we leave behind matters. Our cleaning solutions are biodegradable and pH-balanced, and we rinse thoroughly so no detergent stays in the pile.

For homes with pets we add a UV inspection for hidden accidents and an enzyme odour treatment. For nurseries and playrooms you can add a low-toxicity sanitiser after cleaning.

After we leave

Drying and aftercare

Keep the air moving

Open windows or run fans and air-conditioning. Carpet dries fastest with gentle, constant airflow — usually within two to six hours.

Walk lightly, in clean socks

You can walk on the carpet straight away, but avoid outdoor shoes until it’s completely dry so fresh soil doesn’t stick to damp fibres.

Leave the tabs in place

Keep furniture on the protective tabs until the carpet is fully dry to prevent rust or wood-stain marks transferring to the pile.

Carpet cleaning FAQ

Questions about carpet cleaning

Most homes benefit from a deep clean every 12 to 18 months. Homes with pets, young children or heavy foot traffic do better with a clean every six to nine months, plus regular vacuuming.

Only if detergent is left behind. Residue is sticky and attracts soil. Our rinse-and-extract process is designed to leave the fibres clean and residue-free, so carpets stay clean for longer.

Yes — “steam cleaning” is the common name. Strictly speaking we use hot water rather than steam, with controlled temperature to suit the fibre.

Yes. Stairs are cleaned with hand tools and a stair attachment, one tread at a time, including the risers and edges.

Some stains “wick” back up from the backing as the carpet dries. If that happens within seven days, call us and we’ll return to treat it again at no charge.
